Bio

Dr Yamshchikov completed her medical degree at University of Virginia in 2003, followed by residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, and ID fellowship at Emory University. Since then, she has gained broad experience across multiple aspects of infectious diseases practice, including patient care, hospital epidemiology, antimicrobial stewardship, hospital administration, and clinical informatics.     

Dr Yamshchikov is currently an associate professor of infectious diseases at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, where she is also medical director of their OPAT and Antimicrobial Stewardship programs. Her national roles include founding co-director of the Infectious Diseases Informatics Interest Group for IDSA (IDIIG for short), as well as membership in Quality Measurement and Improvement subcommittee of IDSA and Antimicrobial Stewardship committee for SHEA.  

Her current research interests focus on the intersection of antimicrobial stewardship, health equity, and quality improvement for patients with infectious diseases, as well as innovative approaches to business strategy and healthcare informatics.  She also offers respected and sought-after consultative expertise in development and implementation science of electronic processes to support patient care and other infectious diseases related work.
